At times when things seem overwhelming, FRIENDS step in and support…purely out of love
Friendship is a relationship of mutual affection between people. It is a stronger form of interpersonal bond than an association and has been studied in academic fields such as communication, sociology, social psychology, anthropology, and philosophy.
I know I have written about friends before, but I think it is something that we can not acknowledge enough.
I have been so fortunate throughout my life to have friends that are always there for you, who do things for you that astonish you when it shouldn’t, give you comfort and support when most needed and have a sixth sense as to something that may be affecting someone they love.
I have been truly blessed to have picked up these gems throughout my life and had them stick with me in such a wonderful way that it makes me wonder sometimes what I ever did to deserve these amazing people.
The other day, I was given the amazing gift in the picture above by 2 of the closest friends that have been with me on my life’s journey since I was in grade 8 which is now 56 years.
The story behind the gift in the picture is that we all met in New York for a trip which was on my 60th birthday, we had an absolute blast and visited Strawberry Fields in Central Park which was dedicated to John Lennon. Both my buddy and I are huge Beatles and John Lennon fans and I have a picture of Russell, Eila, Johanna and I at the “Imagine” inlay on the ground in Strawberry Fields in Central Park NY. The irony of this, is that my buddy and I met through a school yard fight when I was 12 which culminated in 2 more fights the last of which ended with both of our schools present at the back of a YMCA for the trilogy. I had a lot of respect for this guy as he could really take a punch and follow up with his own. A week later a girl in my class was having a party at her house and I got a hold of him and told him to come as it would be fun. The rest is history. I sometimes say to him, would you ever have imagined in your wildest dreams that after all those fights you and I would be tethered to each other for the rest of our lives? He is my Brother and I love him unconditionally.
My assistant Nicole is another who went from an assistant to one of the most important people in my life. She is a best friend, a mentor and someone that I respect and look up to as the type of person that we should all strive to be. Her and her family became part of our family.
One of the best perks of this Real Estate business that I am in is that I have been privileged to have clients who have become very close friends through the process. People who have been with me and supported me through my own personal tough times. I would like to thank them all for who they are and for all their support and friendship over the years.
I got into Real Estate for the business, never realizing at the time that the best part of all would be the connections with all these wonderful people along the way. You all know who you are as you smile when you read this. Thank you all for allowing me into your lives in such a wonderful and meaningful way. This is the true definition of “Priceless”. The proverbial “Pot at the End of the Rainbow”. This is the reason that I may never retire!!!
Hope you all have an amazing summer.
